As Easter Approaches

New beginnings are a beautiful part of spring and a wonderful reminder of God’s grace. As the celebration of Easter approaches, I’m always looking for great ways to explain Jesus’ death, burial , and resurrection in a simple manner. I know we have a couple of weeks before Easter at this point, but that allows for plenty of time to plan ahead to share this sweet story and treat. Simply print it out and add it to small jelly bean bags.
What is the Jelly Bean Poem?
This sweet little poem, or as some call it, the jelly bean prayer, is perfect to accompany a pack of jelly beans, and it is one of the creative tools I found in my children’s past artwork. I loved it so much that I had to pass it on to you AND I confess, I simply love jelly beans. (Almost as much as chocolate!) Yes, I’m like a kid in a candy store. 😉
Red is for the love He gave,
Green is for the grass He made,
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night,
Purple is for the hour of sorrow,
Pink is for the new tomorrow.
A bag full of jelly beans,
Colorful and sweet,
Is a Prayer…Is a Promise…Is an Easter treat!
